Cool. Now how about doing the "dark narcissists" behind Trump; his billionaire owners like Carl Icahn, Bob Mercer, Paul Singer, Diane Hendricks, Dick Uileihn, Wilbur Ross, et al. ? They need to be made more "famous" than Trump, as his policy string-pullers; and their actions are especially difficult for anyone of the Flying Monkeys to defend.

If someone funds the weeks of research, I'm game. The most time intensive projects are psychological profiles of people I don't know well because it takes weeks of studying them to be accurate in assessing where their psychology is on the spectrum. Of course, if I had oppo research on them I had high confidence in, that would likely cut the time in at least half.

As of right now, it's like pulling teeth just to get folks (who would strategically benefit) just to mention their damn names. And now many of them are hiding behind "Donors' Trust", a super-PAC funding machine run by a right-wing nut named Leonard Leo.

The personality (disorder) of Trump serves them as a convenient "lightning rod" to draw scrutiny away from them; that's why they fund him.

So true. But scapegoating flying monkeys?

Expand full comment

It's in the OP's article. The flying monkeys are simple enough to figure out; they're in it for whatever they can get- money, sinecures, clout, etc.

Quashing them, tho' satisfying emotionally, doesn't have much impact; it's the funders they're vying to impress that have to be confronted and harshly lit up to drive back the fascist menace creeping forward in our politics.

Well, I’m glad we’re on the same side!

Actually, most flying monkeys are gaslit & not aware they are being used.

Expand full comment

They are aware, on one level or another; they just believe they're using Trump back a little bit more, the way low-level Chinese mayors used Mao's Cultural Revolution to knock down their rivals and bring formations they were suspicious of to heel.

They'll get less than they give, because everybody does when dealing with Fraud Boy; but they're calculating that his billionaire owners will have benisons for those who stick it out to the bitter end. Fat chance; but delusion springs eternal.

The Trump Presidential Library is a jewel. I am still laughing at the titles I would include 🤣🤣🤣

Based on your analysis of this pervasive narcissism emanating from ground zero narcissist, would you say that once he’s gone, finally shown the political, cultural and media exit that this will all be gone? We will have dodged the existential threat and be back to normalcy?

Knock on wood trump will be gone soon & we will have dodged his existential threat, but the Republican Party had become this way before trump came along. He is not the cause, he is an inevitable result.

"They will steal our money, rights and powers, or as much of anything as they can get away with, because they live in a mentally disordered world of, “if you are not winning, you are losing,” “if you are not dominating, you are being dominated,” when you feel empty inside, fill your hole with shiny new things. This is what goes on in the mind of most narcissists like trump because their psyches are primarily rooted in black and white insecurities, fears, jealousies, ignorance and/or traumas, but genetics can often play a large if not near complete role too."

BINGO--when they first tell you that you have to be on top to be dominant and happy, and hey--this or that group is keeping you from all your rewards--you got the populace by the short and curlies. Old playbook, somewhat new faces.

Yes but when a cult leader fades away, don’t the cultists or movements usually go away ? Nxium. Jim Jones. The GOP will need to reset and since they really have no moral compass and will attach back onto malignant capitalism/ corporate greed

I would generally agree but trump didn't build this cult of narcissism, he stole it. The RW media, religion, the GOP & it's owners built this cult. The narcissism will not go away with trump. It will find a new leader. If Desantis had a little charisma, it could have been him. As they say, GOP voters are fine with his policies. They just don't like him.
