"Wonderful writing Sam! Should be required reading for everyone, at least everyone living in Florida. I live here and have watched my state being turned into nothing less than a fascist fiefdom controlled by our own malignant narcissist. Anyway Kudos"

Happiest place on earth where ignorance is bliss. Not a great look.

DeSantis has the personality of a wet dishcloth after the dirty water has been drained and it's just sitting there marinating in filth. 🫠

I'm still trying to figure out all the psych angles of the Floridians who elected him go 2x.

I can answer that question right now, and the answer is no!

Hey JaBier, Please clarify what question you are referring to. I think I know but not 100%. Thanks.

I'll try. Without accessing the story, I think that it was about one of the Republican candidates. If or when I run across the post again I’ll be able to say positively.

I know "The Happiest Place on Earth" well. It is in So Cal. The one in Florida is a nice knock-off.

I kept waiting for the psychology part. Tell us something we don’t already know! Yes, he’s ultimately ambitious but why? How does his evangelical Christianity inform his decisions? What in his younger life drove him to be so scornful and vindictive? Why does he want to “destroy” my worldview?

Good questions Frank. They will be helpful in fine-tuning the upcoming psychological lens. If you have not read Part II, it will get you a bit further down the rabbit hole. The answer to one question, "How does his evangelical Christianity inform his decisions?"; it doesn't other than give him a a guidebook for telling evangelicals what they want to hear. i.e. DeSantis is a Christian the same way trump is a Christian. They use Christianity to justify their bad behaviors when it fits and to manipulate voters, but otherwise could not care less about Christianity.

Thanks for your reply. Because I grew up in the evangelical culture, their aspirations scare the shit out of me.

Indeed, right-wing evangelical culture aspirations should "scare the shit out of" everyone, other than narcissists, sociopaths and psychopaths running a show under that umbrella. Having a group of people blindly follow them is every pathological narcissist's fantasy and has been made true in many a blind-faith religion, culture or belief system.
