Obviously you triggered Scott and the reasons or possibilities are many as you pointed out. There are so many maga followers vs trolls or bots or foreign government agencies trying to influence the election ( or simply public opinion) that it would take too much time and energy to needlessly discern.
For me the issue comes down to this : as you’ve noted, diagnosed, described and warned, we are in an existential crisis as organized psychopaths, sociopaths and malignant narcissists are set on taking over our government and to use it for personal grievance and reactionary ideology purposes. Presently those sympathetic in various red state legislatures are doing their best to dissuade voters they don’t want voting. What does the present, democratically aligned government do if it ascertains that fraud, deceit and intimidation was used to win an election by the other side. Is Martial Law enforced? Do they jail all the sociopathic projectionists? If it was just an election based on the total number of votes I’d rest a little easier but our electoral system makes this the equivalent of the burning of the Reichstag ( sp?).
