As soon as I saw Kamala Harris’s response to the protesters in Detroit - I started laughing 😂 - my Mother had that kind of stare. She could shut people down too. Like Tim Walz she had taught high school.

While some “pundit” criticized her just shutting down the protests in Detroit instead of giving a statement to the same protests in the next city - VP Harris also reads the crowd.

You are from Oakland. I am from the D. We don’t play either. There were Union people in that crowd. They started chanting “We Have Your Back” after Harris told the protesters “I’m speaking now”. There were less than a dozen protesters and how many saying “We Have Your Back”?? Multiply that ....

No wonder the narcissistic dementia wannabe dictator is starting to meltdown.

In the 2020 election Biden stated that he was a bridge to the future. He picked Harris with that in mind. How the last few months have gone down might have been luck, or maybe it’s something else.

He gave an excellent SOTU speech in March. Do you really think that he deteriorated that much over three months, perfectly timed his withdrawal and endorsement of Harris, and then got hostages released from Russia all while sick with Covid? Then viola! There’s Kamala demonstrating the most amazing hit-the-ground-running start of a campaign that probably has ever been.

I am reminded of the wildlife ploy when their young are threatened. They feign an injury, draw the danger away, and as soon as it’s safe they get on with their business. Keeping the campaign short and focused is an advantage politically, but it also allows more time to be spent on governing. In this incredibly ageist culture all he had to do was not attack during the debate, he never had to do anything damaging to anyone else.

I may be wrong but my mind keeps going back to the rope-a-dope he pulled with the republican congress and social security.

Maybe luck, or maybe O’Bidenkenobi? Dark Brandon? 😎

A very well stated & plausible theory. Dark Brandon would do it. Biden, idk?

What Biden manages to accomplish in his time until next year’s inauguration (besides putting Harris in the White House for the next four years) will be revealing. If I was a gambler I’d bet big on Joe. He has dedicated and intelligent people on his team, and the emotional maturity to work with them, unlike trump whose arrogance, viciousness, and stupidity has become predictable, and whose bundle of but kissers will probably have “knives out” for him any day now, there already after vance.

Would Joe have sparked the implosion of the gop? Maybe it is just in my dreams, but I’m hanging on to this one.

I keep thinking about what would have happened if the Biden campaign hadn't asked for such an early debate. It was questioned by everyone. It's not normal to have a presidential debate before both parties have had their conventions and formally nominated their chosen candidate.

Imagine if that debate didn't happen until next month.

There would be no Harris/ Walz ticket and trump would have very likely won, plunging our country into alliance with every fascist dictatorship on this planet and causing immeasurable suffering and death to millions of Americans.

The explanation given was that if the debate went poorly for President Biden the campaign would have more time to recover from it than if it was after the convention.

If the Biden campaign had just used trained professionals in sadistic malignant narcissism instead of policy wonks as debate advisors there might have been a different outcome but as much as I admire and love Joe, this is the way it was meant to and should be.

Trump’s worn out act appeals to fewer people with each passing day. It really does seem like a blue tsunami is forming.

The graphic at the start of this piece looks AI manipulated. Or the lady behind Kamala has a very unfortunate appearance.

Probably used something like Gigapixel AI to make the picture larger.

It seems like Kamala's image is a bit more smoothed and refined too. Strange how it turns others into mutants when you look closer.

It was sent to me so idk. Since the part about Kamala is real, no big imo.

I agree w much of your reasoning but I also think the Biden team expected ( or was hoping) trump would implode early and not recover. If this was Biden of 2020 then it could have happened that way but instead we all saw a frail, tired man trying too hard to get his words out. Finally the populace is focused on the enormous vacuousness of trump, his empty promises, his unrelenting narcissism and he’ll never recover.

I don't think the American people ever saw President Biden as a the strongest foe against trump.

At the height of Covid with the entire economy in the shitter he offered a return to normalcy that was the status quo. I don't think anyone was thinking any farther into the future than just being able to leave their homes without dying.

She is uniquely suited to make trump implode in a way that even a younger Biden could never do.

I was thinking of the debate in 2020 when trump did dissemble and I think wrapped it up for Biden. Normalcy vs the uncontrolled madman.

From The Grove to Georgetown then Golden gate Park, ending up a few blocks away from Oakland in San Leandro! There was the best burritos on East 14th St, fishing/hiking Lake Chabot and hanging out with students in the Berkeley Park.. always dreaming of college. Was able to fulfill that dream years later!
