trump’s "Own Morality" LOL
No one can live by the whims of a mad king.
For those who missed it, in yet another unhinged interview, trump was asked if there were any limits on him using America’s power. This question came after he illegally bombed Venezuela, stole its oil, and kidnapped its leader and is now increasingly threatening to steal Greenland from its people, “the easy way or the hard way.”
While what he claimed was a predictable narcissist’s statement of “I can do whatever I want,” we are also witnessing later seasons of the reality TV show called Dementia + Malignant narcissism = ?.
Perhaps the most disturbing part of this tragic show is that despite trump’s clear cognitive deterioration causing him to publicly confess even more of his mad fantasies, the Republican Party and his maga supporters are still so cultish, cowardly, and craven that they keep pathetically saying, “Thank you, sir, may I have another,” no matter how much his words and actions hurt them, America, or expose their own toxic narcissism.
Are you ready for the 80-year-old’s completely demented confession of the only limit on himself he recognizes?
“Yeah, there is one thing. My own morality. My own mind. It’s the only thing that can stop me.” - donald j. trump
As I am sure was the case for many, when I initially heard him say his “own morality,” my unsurprising visceral reaction was, “What morality?”
That’s right, folks! According to this demented narcissist, the only thing that can stop him from doing whatever he wants with the mightiest nation in the history of the world is whatever his own version of right and wrong is.
Ergo, in the malignant narcissist’s demented mind, essentially nothing can stop him from using the full force of America’s might on anyone, anywhere, at any time, for any reason in pursuit of any and all of his greedy, ignorant, and completely mad compulsions. This means you too maga republicans.
Certainly, many of us knew this was trump’s mindset before this confession, but now we have undeniable evidence that he doesn’t think he has to abide by anything, including American law, the U.S. Constitution, international treaties, international law, rules of war between civilized nations, or even the morals of human decency if he has a whim to do otherwise. Doesn’t sound like someone mentally fit to be the leader of “the land of the free and the home of the brave,” does it?
“I don’t need international law.” - donald j. trump
A narcissist’s morality
Frankly, I never felt the need to give the morality of malignant narcissists, sociopaths, or psychopaths much thought because once you understand that they will always do what they think is best for themselves, that removes the possibility of them ever being a positive version of moral.
It is a pretty simple concept. If someone has always been needy, greedy, self-serving, and predatory in every way, then they are never going to be moral in any way. What more is there to think about?
Words and patterns
Upon further CNI reflection, because words and patterns often reveal the secrets of malignantly disordered minds, it was worth further exploring how trump’s latest confession might provide deeper insights into how they view and use morality. Certainly, we need all the intel we can get on how to counter and expose such narcissistically loaded and dishonest language.
Yes, it’s full-blown gaslighting
The first thing to know with certainty is that whenever a narcissist is claiming to be moral, they are 100% gaslighting you. What else do you call it when someone takes the meaning of “morality” and turns it into something completely self-serving that justifies immorality?
How ironic yet predictable that the most villainous narcissists, even without dementia, are so delusional that they believe they are the most moral, which justifies victimizing everyone who doesn’t let them do whatever they want. This delusion also allows them to declare everyone against them the criminals, terrorists, and villains of morality. Pretty triggering, huh?
True meanings
If there is one thing I have learned in studying psychology, it is that the meanings of words can often be very different from what we think they are, so I have often found it saves me time, energy, and brainpower to confirm key definitions and concepts before going too far down any mentally malignant rabbit hole.
What are morals?
The moral of the story is…
The general definition of “morals” refers to the principles of doing right or wrong that guide our actions. These ethical standards help us make the right choices in terms of our culture and civilized society. Interestingly, it also implies an uncivilized society has an unethical culture and few, if any, morals.
Of course, what is right or wrong can vary on cultural values and belief systems, so it is understandable that what is moral in one place can be immoral in another, but there are many generally accepted ethical standards across most cultures, such as lying, cheating, stealing, and murder being wrong and destructive to society, so there is also often cross-cultural agreement too.
No doubt nearly every culture has their own moral lessons in their stories. In fact, these are the keys to relating internationally, navigating unfamiliar social interactions, and making the correct ethical decisions when it comes to being respectful and productive with other cultures. It’s not hard, it just takes some effort and humility.
Immoral
The general definition of “immoral” is consciously violating the moral laws or standards. Immorality implies a conscious choice to go against a society’s accepted principles of right and wrong.
Amoral
The general definition of “amoral” is lacking a sense of moral laws or ethics. Unlike immorality, amorality implies an unconscious choice. This means they literally don’t have any concern for moral standards because they don’t recognize them or feel any.
Basically, the amoral never considers whether doing something is right or wrong to serve themselves because the moral part of their brain isn’t functioning. Sadly, usually the only things that stop them from following their conscienceless instincts are risks, barriers, or consequences. Ask yourself, why would a predator stop if they don’t see a big risk, a firm barrier, or a severe consequence? I got nothing.
What a coincidence that Antisocial Personality Disorder, aka sociopaths and psychopaths, are the disorders most associated with amoral behavior. The primary symptoms are usually described as a disregard for the rights and feelings of others via a complete lack of empathy or remorse.
Amoral thinking is also closely associated with the core traits of the Dark Tetrad: psychopathy, narcissism, Machiavellianism, and sadism. Essentially, the amoral never get the point because they have little to no moral intelligence to guide them.
Moral intelligence
The general definition of “moral intelligence” is a level of capacity to understand right from wrong and to behave according to those values.
Wikipedia states the concept was first developed in 2005 by Doug Lennick and Fred Kiel, Ph.D. Interestingly, most of their research concluded that moral intelligence is “ability-based” rather than “trait-based.” In other words, it is a skill that can be improved upon and can grow stronger with practice, time, and experience.
Also from Wikipedia, “Beheshtifar, Esmaeli, and Moghadam (2011) claim that moral intelligence is the ‘central intelligence’ for all humans. It is considered a distinct form of intelligence, independent to both emotional and cognitive.”
Admittedly, I only had a faint memory of the term “moral intelligence” before this research, but it will definitely be integrated into CNI philosophy, because as the brilliant Paul Cobaugh pointed out, morality is a fundamental part of Counter-Narcissist Intelligence, and this research helped prove that point.
Indeed, the fact that malignant narcissists, sociopaths, and psychopaths are the disorders associated with immorality and amorality makes it only stand to reason that their opposite (morality) is foundational to Counter-Narcissism.
A narcissist’s morality, or lack thereof
As far as the various types of narcissists are concerned, the application of immoral vs. amoral is interesting, subtle, and tricky.
Generally, malignant narcissists are seen as immoral because they are considered to understand morality but then still choose to act in ways that harm others. Sociopaths and psychopaths are seen as being amoral because they don’t care about or often even recognize right from wrong.
The subtleness and trickiness is that CNI has often observed both seeming to occur in the same narcissist, so these distinguishing features are often not as black and white as experts proclaim.
Bottom line: Virtually all malignant forms of narcissists are ready, willing, and able to violate any rule of morality to serve their own interests, regardless of whether they are aware of the morality or not. In fact, many often seem to vacillate between awareness and total tone deafness for a variety of reasons.
Therefore, there is usually no need to get hung up on which is which (unless devising specific counters), because the most important point is to remember that usually the only people without morals are malignant narcissists, sociopaths, and psychopaths.
It’s pretty simple, someone who is the opposite of moral has the core traits of dishonesty, manipulativeness, and/or a lack of empathy, which inevitably results in them prioritizing their self-interest over every moral and ethical standard. It is in fact immorality or amorality that allows narcissists to shamelessly justify their bad behaviors as moral.
Essentially, the amoral can’t see or feel the pain they cause, while the immoral choose not to. In the end, whatever the difference, they all lack or refuse to follow any moral compass that points to caring about anything but their own interests.
What these definitions and concepts all seem to be telling us is that trump and those around him have no moral intelligence. If true, that would prove how insane he is for saying he is only restricted by his “own morality,” because this is a man who has consistently shown he has no interest beyond self-interest, and that was true decades before the effects of dementia took hold and made him even more detached from reality than he already was.
One thing is for sure: odds are not in favor of America and perhaps humanity surviving much longer if our might, wealth, and natural resources are used according to the morality and whims of a narcissistically mad king.
In Part II, out soon, we have put trump’s “own morality” through the CNI translation machine, which reveals the true meanings behind his seemingly insane words and how understanding these concepts can help us better counter his immoral and amoral compulsions that threaten us all.

Speaking of his lack of morality, Sam, have you seen this?:

I spent two years in the Trump administration.
During that time, I saw how the president handled national security decisions. One of my biggest takeaways was this:

And the Sasha Riley allegations?
Have you written anything on Trump as a sadist before? I would like to revisit it if so.
